Now about 50 miles from Vankari’s cottage was the Athosian castle, inhabited by the svartálfar King. The svartálfar King was Azeroth, who ruled all of Athosia with his son, prince Lanak, at his side. Now the svartálfar of Athosia were nothing more than dark elves. There are slight differences in appearance, between a dark elf and a regular one, that distinguishes them apart (such as longer ears, side fangs, power of levitation, faster regeneration, emo personalities, etc. you get the picture). The svartálfar have been ruling Athosia for over 300 years, but were not completely engulfed in darkness, until the rein of King Azeroth.
Azeroth was the 4th descendant of the first svartálfar king to rule Athosia. Unlike his ancestors before him, Azeroth used his dark powers to subject harsh treatment to all creatures in Athosia, including other svartálfar. Azeroth became corrupt in power as soon a he took the throne and became even more arrogant. He influenced his son to be treacherous and a devious as he was. He instilled fear into almost all of his subjects, except those who resisted...
Now it occurred that the next day after Efeshia’s arrival in Athosia, the svartálfar king’s son, prince Lanak, sensed her presence. He felt a presence unlike anything he felt before, life energy not of darkness, but something very strange. In his curiosity of find out what it was, he walked to the south wing, to his bedroom. In his bedroom was a magnificent magic pond in the middle of the floor, which let him see anything his heart desired. He walked of to the pond and gazed down at his own reflection. “ Show me the presence “, he whispered. Suddenly the pond twirled and changed reflections. He looked in and saw a creature he’d never seen before. He saw a girl, peacefully sleeping on a floor. She had beautiful caramel skin and hazel hair. She looked so serene when the sunlight shone on her face. “ A human?” he wondered. “ Such a beautiful female”, he thought. “ Show me more.” Instantly the view in the pond changed to show a vast meadow, then a forest, inhabited by woodland elves. Then the view changed to a cottage, with an elf standing outside the door and a pixie looking out the window. A mincing smirk started to show on his cold face as he continued to gaze into the pond.
