When I woke up he was gone. Cat and rabbit were back. My cousin Anikha came over that day to hang out with me. As she sat down she started talking about things that were happening in town and then she mentioned something about Takashi. I asked her what she had heard about him and what had he been doing all this time. She told me that Takashi’s girlfriend left him for another boy, which turned out to be his best friend. She also told me that Takashi started sulking around and drinking the day it happened. I finally understood why he was so drunk. She told me something else, which disturbed me. She told me that Takashi was not really my real cousin, but actually a fake cousin who my father adopted. Fining this information out made me so elated inside, even though I kept my joy to myself. That night I wait for Takashi’s return more anxiously than ever. Knowing that Takashi no longer had a girlfriend and he wasn’t my cousin made me start to feel weird inside. Knowing that nothing was holding us back from each other gave me a new fear inside. Love…
Could I have been love sick for Takashi? That night I waited in the bushes for Takashi to appear. As I waited I thought of all the reasons we should be together, and all the reasons we shouldn’t. I wondered if I was pretty enough to be with someone that handsome or if I was old enough to love him. Finally he came. This time, it was a full moon and shined with the stars in the beautiful night sky. I came out of the bushed and stood in front of him, looking. I didn’t even realized I had on my pink Hello Kitty nightgown and torn slippers. When I saw him he looked like a rock star.
“Thank you for warming me last night”, he said with a smile on his face.
As he walked on the grabbed his arm before he walked in.
“Takashi, I-I just wanted to say...” I couldn’t finish talking before I saw tears run down his face. “I am so happy to have known you Takashi, and I-I love you. I will always be there to warm your heart, no matter what.”
Takashi pulled me close to him and held me for what seemed like years. He then put his hands on my waist and on my neck and leaned in for a kiss… At this point my mind went into a 10 second shock as I dealt with a flood thoughts flashing in my mind. “Love, lust, passion, envy, betrayal, and death”. I have no clue what provoked those thoughts but I put it all behind me and kissed him back as hard as I could. Suddenly, he jerked me away from him, placing his hands on my shoulders. He had an expression of dread in his face and he was crying heavy now. The tears wouldn’t stop coming.
“Takashi, what’s wrong now? Why are you unhappy?”
“You will never understand my dear, never. The pain we would have to bear, the problems. I truly do love you but it can never be this way for us.”
“Takashi, I don’t know what you mean? Please, help me to understand.”
Takashi then pulled me back close to him and held me so tight, I could hardly breathe.
“Zai”, he said with such pain in his voice, “I’m your half-brother.”
The End! I hope you thought this story was funny. Silly Rabbit. Tricks are for kids!!!
